Maria Petschnig and Bryan Teoh of Flushnik present "Blinking Lights" - an evening of short film and video art.
"Blinking Lights" brings together the worlds of contemporary art, experimental cinema, new media,
and music video. The first installment of this series will feature nine artists:

The program will be approx. 50 min. Flushnik looks to foster an ongoing
dialogue amongst a wide range of underground artists and audiences within the city.

Starting point of this project are stories of contemporary witnesses about the year 1938.
After the "Anschluss" (German: link-up) in Oberwart / Austria - Jewish fellow citizens- most
of them jurists, business people, physicians - where forced to clean up the footpath in the front of the
public park in oberwart with brushes. "And other citizens where standing with guns aside..."
Sabine Maier and Eveline Rabold creates an artistic output around the incidents of the 12th march
through objects, videos and sound collagen. Duration of the Exhibition: 16.03.2008 till November 2008

UMAS is an artists’ collective in Durham, Ontario, two hours northwest of Toronto, which dedicates itself to the exchange
of international media art and promotes dialogue between contemporary artists. Founded in 1983, UMAS has run
an “artist in residence” programme since 1993. One of the collective’s protagonists, Ilse Gassinger, is not only an artist
but also a curator and the director of the Durham Art Gallery. We have invited her to report on the work of
UMAS and to present the exchange program.

The Story is like that: Modesty Blaise as Miss Coochie or contrariwise invade into the appartment.
Fictive persons are present in it and let the visitor repeat the burglary after the film of the same name by Joseph Losey.
She is not hestiated by her lover. He ditn´t know anything about here visit. She amazed the appartment and don´t one´s mark.

What remines of love?

Filmed with a Spycamera without edditing.
Director of Photography and all other characters are not imaginary nor affinity with individuals accidental.
